Ernie Hudson co-stars in the Warner Bros. presentation Doonby with John Schneider. |
*Ernie Hudson, best known for his characters in Ghostbusters and Congo, co-stars in an independent spellbinding thriller Doonby starring John Schneider (Smallville, Dukes of Hazzard) as Sam Doonby a detached stranger who seems to always be around to prevent disaster. Hudson plays the owner of Leroy’s Country and Blues Bar, where Doonby is the local celebrity.
“Doonby is an intriguing story and takes a couple of unexpected turns,” said Ernie Hudson about the Rated PG film. “There’s something about him (Doonby), so I give him a job. My character came up during the 70’s met a girl and didn’t want to travel any more so he settled down and opened a night club…he loves his wife too.”
The Riverhouse Entertainment production also stars Will Wallace (Tree of Life), Robert Davi (Die Hard) and Jenn Gotzon (Hulk). The film is written and directed by Irish filmmaker Peter Mackenzie. Jennifer O’Neill, Joe Estervez and Mark Joseph also appear in the film.
Ernie is a veteran actor whose credits go back as far as the early ‘80s when he co-starred in Penitentiary II, “The Dukes of Hazzard,” “The A-Team”, “Fantasy Island,” and recent credits include Miss Congeniality, Heros, The Crow, HBO’s Oz, “Stargate SG-1,” Transformers: Primal, The Ron Clark Story, “Law & Order,” and “Modern Family.”
