Who Really Follows Your Social Media Updates...!?

If you’re a regular user of the internet then chances are you have a social media account with one of the main providers. The majority of us use Facebook, Twitter or both to various degrees, but are you aware of how sharing personal information can put you at risk?

Home Security

One of the growing concerns among security experts is the rise in home burglaries that can be directly attributed to the victim’s updates on one of these major sites. If you can’t see why criminals would be interested in your domestic revelations, then consider this survey from the UK, which reveals that around four in five convicted burglars used social websites in order to plan their crime.
Having established who to target, those criminals then use Google Streetview as a handy way to virtually ‘case the joint’ before making their strike.

Loose (virtual) lips

But how does the whole process of using Facebook and Twitter to plan a burglary work? Perhaps the easiest way to answer that question is to look at the case of Arizona man Israel Hyman, who is convinced that a series of tweets led to a break-in at his home while his family was on vacation.
Back in 2009, Mr. Hyman claimed around 2,000 Twitter followers. As the family prepared for their trip to Kansas, various tweets revealed that they were, “preparing to head out of town,” that they had “another 10 hours of driving ahead,” and finally, that they “made it to Kansas City.”
While away from home, burglars called at the Hyman residence and stole thousands of dollars’ worth of items that formed part of his video equipment sales business , leaving the shocked tweeter in no doubt as to why he was targeted.
“My wife thinks it could be a random thing, but I just have my suspicions,” he revealed to the Associated Press. “They didn’t take any of our normal consumer electronics.”
Sadly, this isn’t just an isolated case, and as we’ve already seen from the 2011 UK survey, thieves are regularly accessing Twitter and Facebook to gather information such as that provided by Mr. Hyman. Stories surrounding the link between crime and careless Tweets are starting to become commonplace.

Further implications

Social Media Burglaries have caught the eye of the press, but they haven’t escaped the attention of insurance companies either. Underwriters are also concerned at what they call ‘internet shopping for thieves,’ and that could have certain implications as far as your homeowners insurance is concerned.
Reformed thief Michael Fraser, who had been assisting with a TV programme in the UK called ‘Beat the Burglar’ said:
“There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that burglars are using social networks to identify likely targets.  They gain confidence by learning more about them, what they are likely to own and when they are likely to be out of the house.”
Increased cases are likely to lead to a rise in premiums, but could a careless policyholder miss out on claim payments altogether if it’s proved that social media updates led criminals to their home?

How to stay safe

It’s very straightforward for criminals to use Twitter in this way because, unless Tweets are protected, anyone can read a status update. You don’t even have to follow that person in order to read them, and if you use Twitter for business, as Mr. Hyman did, it’s a very powerful marketing tool that should be left open for new clients to read.
However, you can stay secure simply by not revealing your exact location. We all like to let others know just how much we’re enjoying our holiday, but do we really need the world to know that we’re away from home?
Consider waiting to update until you return. That’s a perfect time to share all your photos and your stories while making it clear to whoever’s watching that you’re back at home and the place is fully occupied.
In addition, look at installing a security system to keep an eye on things for you while you’re gone. Remember how burglars like to use Google Streetview in order to assess your property and look for vulnerable access points? The majority of criminals who took part in the UK survey confirmed that they wouldn’t have even attempted a break in had they been made aware of an effective deterrent of this kind.
Social media is fun and useful, but it helps to be aware of the consequences of sharing too much personal information. As we’ve already seen, burglars do use platforms such as Facebook and Twitter to identify new targets — so be careful about your updates and make sure that your home security is operative and as up to date as possible.

What’s the best age to find love?

#RealHousewivesofATL Recap:

Beauties, we have another recap for you!

We've been watching Kandi and Mama Joyce's relationship unfold as the wedding gets closer, and many of us understand Kandi's difficulty of stepping to her mother.

But, is it time for Kandi to check her? How would you handle your mother if she was to take it as far as Mama Joyce?

Discuss below!

I’ve always been obsessed with what makes some couples stay together - and not just stay together but stay giddily bonkers about each other - when most don’t last the distance (or stay ‘for the children’ in an unspoken, liveable but unpleasant truce).
After years of observation, I’ve decided happy couples tend to fall into two camps.
They’re either early birds (got together in high school or university) or late lovers (got together age 45-plus).
Yes, they’re quite specific and not terribly common categories that completely ignore the majority but there are reasons why each works.
Couples who get together early, grow up together. With the right communication skills, strong motivation and commitment, each adapts to accommodate the other, moulding to fit with equal give on either side. Picture seedlings planted side by side. With the same soil and sunlight, they’re going to grow at the same rate and in the same direction, ending up more similar, right?
The early bird couples I know have jobs they love and are happy to allow each other time apart for work reasons.
The combination of a secure base but ‘permission’ to explore is the core of their success.
But it’s also because they’ve only ever really dated one person.
The ‘paradox of choice’ syndrome says too many options hampers our decision-making ability. In other words, too much choice of partners is confusing not liberating.
If you’ve only ever had sex with each other (or one or two others), if you’ve only been in love with one person, you’re not sucked into the ‘What if there’s better out there? If I leave it one more year before settling, who knows who else might turn up?” syndrome.
‘Childhood sweethearts’ is a madly romantic formula that conforms to our secret ideals of how we all wish love would be - effortless, painless, trouble-free and uncomplicated.
In our permissive society, it’s been poo-pooed as an idea but if you look around at all your couple friends, most will find one or two who did get together young and are happily growing old.
How and when we love is also about personality.
If you’re a curious, ambitious, questioning type of person, settling early doesn’t happen because it doesn’t appeal.
Some of us thrive on adventure and experiences and need freedom and independence to explore them. It’s not just about ‘sowing wild oats’ but experimenting with different jobs and personalities and ‘fits’ that you couldn’t or wouldn’t do when you are responsible and answerable to someone you love.
It’s this personality type who find later-in-life love far more satisfying - and like loving young, loving when you’re older also has advantages.
You’re much less paranoid, for a start!
When your partner’s half an hour late to a party and haven’t sent a text, you rather (sensibly and accurately) assume they’re on the tube and running late rather than having sex on their desk with a hot work mate.
You choose better because age really does improve our judgement and, almost despite yourself, do end up wiser about who is right for you.

The older you are, the more likely you are to know what you want and if you’re even half decent at being able to articulate that to someone else, more likely to get it.
There’s an advantage to a slightly dampened libido - you’re less likely to cheat and know the difference between bloody good sex and love. After the many breaks and bruises the average heart receives in 20-odd years of living and loving, you’re also quite appreciative when you do find a relationship that works really well.
The other rather glorious thing about finding love late is this: it feels just as ridiculously heart-poundy-flip-floppy as it did the first time you fell heavily but it’s got more substance and depth. You trust it to last rather than feel it’s going to blow away with the gust of your first argument.
I'm good at cooking "Ugali" nowadays...! I was taught by my Lovely Mom that, "Learn to be a very hard-working girl, it will help you in the future to survive your choice of Love"

And so I don't need any disturbance NOW till I'll be on my exactly age, "THE BEST AGE FOR ME TO FIND MY LOVE"
My opinions are Late love is by far the better fit for me. What about you?

How to get out of a s..x slump

A recent CNN health report showed 40 million Americans are stuck in a sex rut. Most therapists would agree the proportion of population similarly affected in the UK is equally as high.
The reasons why we’re all so bored in bed are many: everything from unrealistic expectations to stressed lifestyles. Ask the average worn out parent what they’d most like to do in bed and most will answer ‘sleep’.
There's no denying it: great sex is an achievement not a given.

Couples who are still enjoying a great sex life after 10, 20 or even 50 years together, aren’t lucky - they’re committed to making sure it’s great, says Relate.
I totally agree. Here’s what you can do to turn your sex slump into the start of something rather wonderful:
  • · Stop believing it’s ‘normal’ to not want sex long-term. Yes, desire does fall the longer you’ve been together but it’s a cop out to shrug your shoulders and say ‘Oh well, that’s just what happens’. There’s plenty you can do to stop this happening or reverse the effect. All you have to do is want to try.

  • · Your relationship and sex life are connected. Most couples underestimate the affect their sex life has on their relationship and vice versa. Put some effort in the bedroom and your relationship will improve; make an effort out of bed and you’ll have more and better sex in it.
  • · Act on impulses. At the start of the relationship, the desire for sex is strong and the feeling hard to miss. Later on, desire feels more like a flickering of flames than a raging fire. Be attuned to it and act on the ‘flicker’ as soon as possible. The longer you wait between first impulse and doing something, the less likely is it you’ll act on it.
  • · Visit your GP to check your general health and review any medications which could be affecting your libido.

  • · Keep a sex diary. Write down any erotic thoughts and what triggers them. Think back to what you both did in the beginning. Revisit the things you tried that you’ve forgotten you liked. Each come up with five things you miss and used to do together, put the suggestions in a jar and pull one out and action it every week.
  • · Take a sex toy to bed together - preferably a good vibratorMen are more motivated to have sex because it’s easier for them to orgasm. Most women find it easier to orgasm with a vibrator so it increases incentive to have sex if it's there as a 'standby' if all else fails.
  • · Up the amount of sex you’re having, even if you don’t really fancy it to start with. When you’re all snuggled up watching telly, who can be bothered making the effort? But if you do, lots find desire kicks in once stimulation starts. Regular sex boosts the body’s production of testosterone which, in turn, makes you feel like sex next time around.
  • · Talk about it. Make a pact to talk openly and honestly about your needs and wants and agree never to judge anything your partner suggests.
  • · Use erotica: Watch sexy films, read sexy books, look at sexy images. Focusing on sex keeps your libido high.

Why is OK for women to experiment with other women but not for men to do it with men?

It was good news for women when the results of the biggest and most respected sex study to be done in a decade were released today.
The National Survey of Sexual Attitudes and Lifestyles showed women are becoming far more adventurous, better educated about sex and less afraid to experiment.
One of the most startling results was the increase in women having same sex experiences.
In 1990, 4% of women claimed they had experimented with another female, with 2% saying it involved genital contact.
Fast forward to 2010 and it’s shot up to 16% and 8% of those encounters involving intimate sex.
It’s a radically different story for men.
Six percent of men said they’d had a same sex experience (4% involving genital contact) back in 1990; ten years on it’s risen by a tiny one percent on both counts.
Which raises an interesting question: why is it OK for women to experiment with other women but not for men to do it with men?
Almost all of the ‘straight’ women I know have had lesbian snogs, furtive feels, one-nighters or full-on flings at some point in their lives.
It’s becoming so commonplace, it’s got a lot of people horribly confused.
‘Dear Tracey,’ wrote one bewildered, elderly gent to my website. ‘Is it just me or are lots of women sleeping with other women these days? Was it always like that and I just never noticed?’
The new statistics prove it wasn’t ‘always like that’ - but I still think it’s nothing his grandson should be stressing about.
Most of the women I know thoroughly (some really thoroughly) enjoyed the experience but have remained straight.
But while the study showed an ever-increasing acceptance for same sex relationships, including gay male couples, straight men wanting to experiment with other men still remains taboo.
‘If a woman dabbles, she’s just dabbling. If a man does it, it means he’s secretly gay,’ is a comment I’ve been hearing for as long as I’ve been writing about sex (25 years).
Most people continue to think like this.
Other studies (specifically by Meredith Chivers) show two women to be a turn on for almost everyone – straight guys, straight girls, gay women. Two men only tends to put a twinkle in the eye of gay men.
And while most straight women aren’t revolted by the suggestion of sleeping with the same sex (even if it’s something which doesn’t truly appeal) lots of men are.
There’s still such a stigma about being a gay man, owning up to even a second-long-semi-sexy thought involving another man is frightening.
Being gay can still lose you friends, jobs, the love of your family and respect of your community.
Coming out for men is a BIG decision.
Is it any wonder they don’t allow themselves to even think about straying into that area unless they’re 150% convinced it’s worth the risk?
I interviewed more than a dozen women and men recently, for an article about same sex experimentation.
The women had a right sparkle in their eye when asked if they fancied experimenting with women yet only one of the straight men dared to even look interested in doing the same with men.
He begrudgingly admitted to kissing ‘some bloke’ once while ‘very very drunk’ and feeling ‘vaguely interested’ in taking it further.
Not that he did – of course.
As far as society is concerned, a woman can still be feminine and want to stick her tongue into another woman’s whatnot.
But a man can’t be seen as manly if he wants to stick his bit into another man’s anything.
Where does all this leave us exactly?
A lot more advanced in our attitudes to women and gay sex - but still hung up on men.
It’s one of the few areas involved sexual experimentation that I suspect will forever stay swayed in our favour.

Five things you can do now to revitalize your sex life

One in ten men and women worry about their sex lives - and most that they’ve fallen into a rut.

That was the verdict of the British Natsal (National Survey of Sexual Attitudes and Lifestyles) study, released last week.
With a new year approaching, it’s the perfect time to revitalize your love life with these five, simple, transforming tips.

1. KISS FOR TWO MINUTES PER DAY
Couples kiss less and less the longer they are together. Which is a big mistake! An evolutionary psychologist studied why kissing gets the kiss-off by long-term couples and why people find kissing enjoyable in the first place. His findings: couples who ditch the customary air-kiss greet-and-parts for a few 30-second ‘proper’ kisses daily saw extraordinary improvement in their relationship…fast. That’s a mere two minutes per day to improve your love life, so pucker up!

2. MAGNETISE EACH OTHER
One of the main causes of tension in relationships is arguments about the frequency of sex. If that’s you, try this simple technique to fix it. All you need is two fridge magnets. Each of you claim one as your own, then move it once a day depending on if you do or don’t feel like sex. If the magnet is close to the top of the fridge, it means you’re extremely interested. If it’s at the bottom, you’d rather be on dishes duty. There’s a temptation for the high sex person to leave their magnet at the top of the fridge permanently and the low-desire person to weld theirs to the bottom but you’re actually better off doing the opposite. If both of you try to resist your ‘natural’ inclination and deliberately hover in neutral territory (the middle of the fridge), you might find an interesting pattern emerges. The low-desire person (finally) gets to be the first to instigate sex by inching their magnet above the always-up-for-it person, experiencing an erotic surge of sexual power. The high desire person (finally) gets the equally exquisite glory of being seduced. It’s great for couples who don’t feel comfortable discussing their sexual needs and stops having to second-guess your partner.
3. HAVE SEX SOMEWHERE YOU USUALLY DON’T
Christen every single room in your house in a week. To make itreally interesting, put a time limit on it. No more than five minutes from start to finish – and remember, a quickie can be intercourse, oral or hand stimulation.
The stairs: Great if height differences stop you from using certain positions and fab for oral sex as well as intercourse.
The bathroom: Try standing up in the shower or you standing with legs apart, hands on the sink for support, as he enters from behind.
The kitchen: You sit on the bench, he stands in front of you.
The laundry: Sex on the washing machine while it’s on the spin cycle is fantastic: it’s a seat-size vibrator!
The garden shed: Get the thrill of doing it outside, without the complication of actually being seen by your neighbours.

4. MASTER THE WORLD’S MOST POPULAR POSITION
The ‘reverse cowgirl’ – you on top straddling him but facing his feet – is consistently voted both his favourite position and the position most likely to give you an orgasm during intercourse. Why? You’re in control and easily able to alternate between good, constant clitoral contact or G-spot focused thrusting.

5. TAKE TURNS TO PLAN A SEX NIGHT
The person whose turn it is decides what you’re doing, when, where, how, organises any props you need, and is the instigator. This forces each of you to adopt different roles as giver and taker. Need inspiration? Invest in a few good sex books and nick ideas from there. If you’re worried your partner won’t like it, mark things you like the look of with sticky notes in one colour and get them to do the same with another. The pages both of you have marked try out first. The rest are negotiable once you’ve broken out of your comfort zones.

Buffalo soldiers! Bull is saved by its friends while being EATEN by lions... which are sent flying through the air

Flyin' lion! A lion blindsides a smaller buffalo as it emerges from bushes at the Mjejane Reserve in South Africa.

  • - The young buffalo was attacked by a lion at Mjejane Reserve, South Africa
  • - Amazingly all of the animals walked away without any injuries, except perhaps, some bruised egos.

  • All looked lost when this young and lone buffalo was attacked by two lions in a South African national park.
But the pair had not bargained on the buffalo's friends coming to his rescue, and moments later they were tossed several feet in the air before being chased away.
The dramatic scene was captured on camera in the Mjejane Reserve on the border of the Kruger Park.
