Now we are going to show you amazing tips for website designers which you can be sure that visitors will have such a great first impression that they will be turned into your fans as well.

Tip #1: Design Your Website to be Fast Loading – Besides the importance of a website’s fabulous look, which always make the first impression to your visitors, a few number of visitors will only see it if it takes so much time to load.  In order to keep your visitors, your webpage should not take more than 15 seconds to load.

Tip #2: Obvious & Catchy Navigation – In order to make visitors go through your website, they must first find distinguished and obvious navigation elements.  Be sure that all important links can be found easily at the right place, better to be right on top since usually visitors look right onto the top firstly.  Effectively use menus on the right & left hand sides.  Linking the pages of your website is very essential.  Make your information attainable from various and almost all parts of the site because you cannot predict what is in the minds of your visitors, so make it simple and easy for them.  Also manage navigation using the footer for important and useful links.

Tip #3: Resolutions’ Importance – All kinds of screen resolutions are now available, where you can find varieties which range from 640 x 480 to 1024 x 768 or even higher.   Your role is to design your site to suit for all these screen resolutions. Designing your site in terms of percentage rather than pixels is the most efficient way.

Tip #4: Browser Compatibility – Make sure that your website is running compatible with all different, and commonly used browsers.  Your website is supposed to look great in Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Netscape, as well as Google Chrome.  Keep on updating your website designs whenever you find necessary.  For example, even if it looks well on Internet Explorer, you should do cross browser checking because other browsers like Netscape almost gives some problems especially when doing complicated HTML designs. Be patient in solving these problems because it can be fixed.

Tip #5: Readable and Good Looking Fonts - I can’t remember how many times I left a website because of the hazy fonts and the extra ordinary colors like phosphoric one.  Make sure that you don’t use comic sans and unavailable fonts on most computers because using unavailable fonts will make the website using the default font of the visitor’s computer to be seen improperly.  So always use the ordinary and the most professional web fonts to avoid this problem. You can use fonts like Arial.

Tip #5: Reduce Using Images - Meaningful, clear and simple designs are always effective for the website. Crowding your page with huge images will make the loading process slow.  Use catchy images which are related to the content to attract the attention of your visitors.

Tip #6: White Space Usage - Using a lot of white spaces and reducing graphics or images used will make the website look neat and simple.  Always avoid a crowded design – white space makes your website pages look comfortable and clear.

Tip #7: Always Check for Broken Links - Before uploading any links to your website, keep in mind to always check for broken links.  Adobe Dreamweaver can help you in this process by just right clicking on any file on the site’s files window and then pressing on the check links button.  In case this option is unavailable, you can upload your site and then check it using online tools like Net Mechanic.

Five hot web design tips for beginners

Five hot web design tips for beginnersCreative web designers should pay attention and look out for any latest design trends according to user’s experience and for search engines as well.  Also, updates that occur from time to time on the algorithm that evaluates websites from search engine’s side should also be considered during the designing process.
Nowadays many website masters are focusing on search engine optimization to drive traffic and to enhance search engine results to gain some revenue. But even after you get users to visit your website, they need to find a compelling design that will make them willing to stay on it rather than clicking the back button and try the next result which will be your competitors obviously. So below are some essential tips to make sure that your website is friendly, not only with the users, but with the search engines as well:

Website layout design

There are some standards for layout design that we are very much familiar with. The reason most web designers are still using it is because it might be somewhat comforting to the eyes of the users and allows visitors to browse the website easily without any problems, considering inexperienced users that might visit your webpage. So as a web designer, you have to set your design idea to be usable and easy while navigating.

Use readable fonts

There are tons of different fonts on the web and there are some websites which are using fonts that looks weird. These kinds of fonts may cause problems for the users, either in opening the page itself or for reading. Both will lead to visitor loss so make sure to use a default font on your website and readable like Arial, Tahoma, Sans-Serif.

Five hot web design tips for beginners

On-Page content:

One of the most important elements that your website should include. Even if you have a bad design for your website, a visitor might still stay on your website to read your content because it’s unique; although it’s not a common thing to happen. If your content is unique and valuable, this will make your website different and more preferred than a competitor’s website.

Webpage loading speed

Not only web developers should write a clean code that won’t take too long to be loaded. Web designers also need to focus on this point – create light designs that can be loaded in seconds and considering images with big sizes. Google crawler takes the speed of loading the page as a strong factor in ranking and evaluating the website in SERPs (Search engine results pages).

White and blank spaces

One of the most important elements of design is how to use blank and white spaces and knowing why? White spaces between paragraphs are great because you can separate one idea from another, BUT don’t over use this. You have to measure the blank spaces according to your design aspects to leave enough spaces between every section on your webpage.
The above tips could be your first guide while thinking of your next new design.  If you offer web design services and you are an intermediate designer, you have to remember these tips and never under estimate their utmost importance.
