Before creating Website
Making a website nowadays is so much easy specially with all these existing website development software and content management systems that allow you to create one with just a few clicks. You can find now millions of websites online, but not all of them are effectively driving traffic. This is because most of the websites were created without any useful information or its respective owners don’t exactly know the main purpose of making them in the first place.
There are also some companies that create a website just because all other companies have a website. This is a totally wrong perception of having a website because you can turn it into a revenue generating tool if you manage it well and it receives a lot of traffic. So, before making a website you need to ask yourself these five simple questions:
1 – What MY website SHOULD BE ABOUT?
This is the fundamental question to ask yourself once you get the idea of creating a website. The answer to this question will determine whether to continue or not. If you don’t have anything in mind then do a little research on something that interests you. Do not jump into hasty decisions or else you might include something which could damage your company’s reputation and that will be such a waste or your time and resources.
2 – Why DO I need a website?
There should be a good or at least a valid reason for creating a web page/site. You need to specify what your audience will do exactly on the website. The purpose of the website really matters because it will determine the series of steps you will be taking in order to make it working to benefit you and your business. One of the common reasons of having a website is that you’ll be able to maximize your marketing budget by promoting your company in a larger scale both locally and internationally.
3 – How my website will look like?
Attractive design is the key element of attracting visitors. Your website must be designed in a professional way to make it easy for your visitors to browse it. Creating an attractive design is very important because a badly designed page causes your visitors to close your website before reading your content.
4 – How long WILL your content be useful?
You can write something educational, like a tutorial perhaps on how to use a recent software, and it will useful until such time a new one is launched. If your content will be news about a specific product before its release, then your content will not be useful as it was by the time this product has been made available to the market. Consider timeliness, plan a time frame you want to keep your content within. Because if your content becomes obsolete then you’ll be losing a big part of the website’s credibility.
5 – How your content will be optimized?
The content of your page should be regularly optimized. If you want to use the page just to say something then you have to choose your words precisely. If it’s for educational purpose or a blog post, then you need to work on the keywords that you’ll use to drive traffic and don’t forget to include some links that are related to your post’s content.
This is the key in driving your targeted audience to read the content you wrote. You can drive more visitors by connecting your website to social media accounts. Again, these are the essential questions you need to answer before implementing a website. As a saying goes, “Failing to plan is planning to fail”.
